Cecilia Gutierrez Perez

Cecilia Gutierrez Perez, PhD, is an Associate with BioGenerator Ventures. In this role she conducts scientific and business due diligence to evaluate and advance investment opportunities for the team.
Prior to joining the BioGenerator team, Cecilia was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at WashU, where she was awarded the Alexander & Gertrude Berg Fellowship and the NIH F32 (Kirschstein-NRSA) award. She was also a Venture Fellow through the Office of Technology Management at WashU, supporting early-stage start-ups through market research, competitive analysis, and development of investor-facing materials.
She holds a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology from Dartmouth College and was a John H. Copenhaver Jr. and William Thomas MD 1952 Fellow. Her thesis focused on the discovery and pre-clinical advancement of novel therapeutics to treat invasive fungal infections.
