Manager of Employer Partnerships

Position Summary

BioSTL is hiring a Manager of Employer Partnerships to play a key role in implementing BioSTL’s regional workforce strategy across the plant, life, and medical sciences to advance the goal of ensuring St. Louis’ bioscience talent is a strength of the region. The Manager of Employer Partnerships will build and maintain strong employer, training provider, and community relationships to meet talent and employment goals. This position will report to the Director of Regional Workforce Strategy. The Manager of Employer Partnerships will be a full-time, salaried position with BioSTL. 

Job Responsibility

As a member of the BioSTL team, the Manager of Employer Partnerships will focus on building deep, trusted partnerships that create significant value for each employer in their portfolio. The Manager of Employer Partnerships will work directly with employers to understand their talent and workforce needs and facilitate solutions in partnership with training providers, community organizations, and the region’s workforce system. The Manager of Employer Partnerships will also support the Director of Regional Workforce Strategy on sector-wide workforce initiatives, including skills-based programming and measurement and evaluation. The available position allows for different degrees of supporting or leadership roles, commensurate with demonstrated experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage BioSTL’s employer partnerships to leverage programs that meet talent needs and lead to quality employment by:
  • Performing employer needs assessments and support delivery of solutions with key academic and training partners.
  • Facilitating custom programming as necessary.
  • Collaborating with community organizations and the workforce system to recruit a diversity of participants for skills-based training; and
  • Supporting program completers into quality job placement and career progression.
• Facilitate training on skills-based hiring for bioscience employers, community organizations, and job candidates to enable successful adoption across the region.
• Design and implement a comprehensive measurement and evaluation process for the region’s bioscience workforce strategy.

Required Qualifications

• Familiarity with tactical workforce planning, multi-channel recruitment, and skills-based programming.
• Familiarity identifying and developing new partnership opportunities including:
  • Designing and implementing solutions through thorough needs assessments.
  • Managing and planning resources, deadlines, impact, and quality necessary for projects; and
  • Monitoring and communicating progress to achieve goals within set time and resource allocations.
• Talent acquisition experience with bioscience organizations highly preferred.

Ability to engage diverse audiences of various organizational levels; analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills; multi-stakeholder engagement and partnership leadership; ability to work collaboratively as well as independently to achieve goals.

Compensation

Pay is commensurate with experience and is benchmarked against market rates. Benefit package for full-time employees includes excellent health coverage, generous retirement savings match, tuition assistance, and other benefits to support employees personally and professionally.
